Interchangeable Purse Liner Experiment

Aug 30, 2011

Years before I invented the Sharon Barber transformable / interchangeable purse, I experimented with the idea of using a transferable purse liner to change all of my “stuff” from purse to purse.

I made several prototype liners and began using them.  Purses are different sizes and shapes and some have different size compartments.  I soon realized that a one size liner does not fit all.

The purse liner experiment lead me to the idea of using a constant base and just change the outer appearance – my first interchangeable purse.

Purse Dog

Aug 28, 2011

The first definition of a Purse Dog is a dog that is small enough to fit in a purse sized carrying case.  These dogs are popular and you often see young celebrities carrying their toy sized dogs out on the town.  These dogs are usually specific breeds and weigh no more than five pounds.  A few breeds that fall into this category are Teacup size toy Poodles, Maltese dogs, Yorkshire Terriers, Bichon Frise dogs, and Chihuahuas or the Spitz dog are all possible choices.

The second definition of a Purse Dog is a purse / handbag made in the shape of a dog, a whimsical carrying case usually for young girls and teens.  All breeds of dogs are possible with this definition.  See example here.

For years many women have treated their purses as an extension of their personal sense of style. Beyond being functional, handbags are a statement of fashion.

This extravagant purse takes the cake.  The ”1001 Nights Diamond Purse” by House of Mouawad is valued at 3.8 million dollars.

The purse is encrusted with 4,517 diamonds – 381 carats worth.  It took 10 artisans 1,100 hours to complete.

Sharon Barber Purses – Purse Theft Prevention, Number 4

Aug 13, 2011

Women – Look around and be alert while walking down the street or in a parking lot – especially by yourself.

Pay attention to the uncomfortable feelings that often warn you of potential danger.

Don’t be afraid to return to a business, or ask for help based on a “funny feeling”.  You may be right.

Please learn from my mistake. ~ Sharon Barber
