Kayton Malone has rescued Tandar the guilly otter and Goozle, a winged serpent from brutal animal smugglers. Now she needs to get off-planet fast. When Hayden McIver agrees to give her and the animals passage to his home planet of Norhas, she readily agrees. As his old spacecraft begins to fold space, she discovers that there are far more terrifying things after her than the three men who want her dead.

Dreamslayer’s Destiny, The Lost Shadow Song, Elia’s Song and Dragon Vortex are must reads for all you fantasy fans who love a well told story that keeps you turning the pages until the very end.

Book one of a three part series, The Lost Shadow Song is a fast-paced magical thriller set in an agrarian, male dominated culture where women have their place, and it’s not on the battlefield.

“Raynauld and I will join the battle when the time is right,” said Tamitric, stroking the dragon’s golden face. “In the meanwhile, you two will have to try not to get yourselves killed.”

His dark piercing eyes penetrated the mist with a light of their own.

“Hart has been down here a long time, and he longs to kill again. You must not allow him to dominate you. He is the sword of death, and death is all he knows. Do not draw him unless you intend to kill, and then be careful to control him, or you will find yourself killing friend and foe alike.”

Survival on Sequene has always depended on forbidden magic-use. For one thing, the spatial doorways there can swallow a person up without a trace. For another, evil seems to thrive there.

As a master of doorway travel, Elia is aware that her magic-use could land her in front of the tribunal of religious zealots known as the Canon of the Keepers to be sentenced to a fiery death. Undeterred, she leads two condemned brothers through a spatial doorway to a hidden valley of magic-users, unaware that one of the them is a spy for the tribunal. His questionable actions soon reveal that his true mission is to destroy every magic-user in the valley. Before anyone can stop him, he is able to signal the location of the valley to the tribunal, and an army of thousands begins marching their way. Not knowing what else to do Elia turns to Jaxton, the second brother who is beginning to discover his own path as a magic-user. Along with a handful of other magic-users, Elia and Jaxton try to find a way to defend the valley. As the encroaching army draws closer, they learn that an unidentified user of destroyer magic is walking among them, confusing them and picking them off one at a time.

The rustling leaves of the old cottonwood tree seemed to sing Fenix and Furie to sleep. They could see the two knotholes that distinguished it from all other trees. Time and weather had broken the lower knothole open just a crack, making it look like a door. The door was what drew the girls, making them ponder the possibilities.

They gave the door a little push, and there to their surprise sat a large gray rabbit who was studying a newspaper in front of him. The pictures in the newspaper moved like a dozen movies.

He looked up and said, “I am Mr. Rabbit, the Keeper of the Tree Portal, and I’m very glad you’ve come. I need for you to check on the Weasel Brothers. They just can’t stay out of trouble.”

The next thing the girls knew, they were off on an adventure to see what trouble the Weasel Brothers had gotten themselves into.

“Allow me to introduce myself. Cleburn Weasel, at your service.

When Elsie saw the girls, she looked so shocked she dropped the weasels.

The meerkats weren’t the only ones who seemed to be aware of something unseen. The horses also began to proceed more slowly.
